We have had a bad Winter so not much work for me. I'm BORED

The snow from last month still hasn't completely melted and more snow coming Sunday but only a few inches

It's raining today so it will melt and wash away more of the snow

People do not want their carpets cleaned with snow on the ground and I don't blame them

Thought you were close to retirement George? Me, I'm semi retired and I love it. Gets me out of the house during the week, cherry pick the jobs I want and have realized that getting close to the end everything has changed about making $ and being a slave to the machine.

We don't want newbies to be a SLAVE for a TM


The only VLM disadvantage is that it's slower SOMETIMES but slower also gets you FASTER Dry Times

So it's not really a disadvantage

I would rather take longer and get FASTER Dry Times

How do you carry your equipment the same 300 feet to a house that I have to carry hoses to. We both have to deal with crappy winter, mud conditions and the distance to the job is the same for both of us.
All equipment needs maintenance and repairs.

It's easier to clean some wheels than dealing with all the other stuff. Not as much as a pain.

I wear my hose like giant Mardi Gras beads when i take um out and run um thru a hoser every time i put um back in the van

I put furniture blankets on the porch and right inside house so when I bring my OP it runs on blankets and cleans wheels

And if needed I put booties on wheels once I get in house


I HATED when I had to drag hoses through mud and rain and snow because it made a damn mess in my van

Or when it was raining or snowing and I had my van side doors open

I don't have a garage so in the winter I had to put heaters in my van when it got below 32 degrees and when it got below 10 degrees I had to run antifreeze through TM because I didn't trust the heaters. I put three ceramic heaters in my van. One in the back one in front of TM and one on the side. Thankfully I never lost power and never froze anything in van or TM but it did cost money running those heaters. My Father was a electrician so he made thermostats so they would shut off and on but I still wasted a lot of money running those heaters for 25 years

I HATED those days. 25 years of BS


Almost no maintenance other than tightening a few bolts on my OP's every few months

A washing machine is much easier than dumping 50 - 100 gallons of dirty water

What's so hard about turning a valve? Less than 5 minutes and im done.
How many loads of pads are you washing?
Do you wash your own clothes in that washer?
Im sure you just scrub and run way more than you admit or you would understand my comment.

I owned a Laundromat for 19 years while cleaning carpets.
The availability to wash 500 pounds of items in 30 minutes was definitely a perk.
I met several pad cleaners along the way.

I knew that answer would get someone's attention. My normal smart ass answer is, there for really deep pile carpet . But really, i dont just do carpets. I do carpet,upholstery,tile, ultrasonic blind,and window cleaning . Ladders and the toyota pickup are my window cleaning rig. At least thats how it's written off lol
