Cat pee on leather sofa

My parents have 3 leather sofas in their basement that they have just realized the cat had peed on. The cusion covers unzip and i can remove the pads. How should I treat this? Should i inject some sort of urine treatment into the pad and stick it in a bag and suck the air out? Do I have to rinse? What is the best thing to do?

Hey Anthony,

if it's aleather, then it'll probably have escaped getting into the faom... unless it has fabric bottom halves where it could enter.

I've found it often gets in underneath the leather and into the timber framing, and the foam underneath the seating area.

This can usually be corrected, but not with a 'onsite' visit.

I normally, collect these, and take them back to my shop and work on them over 1-2 weeks. Usually a tops of a few hours, 600-1000 for it and in most cases, 100%.

You'll need to know your leathers before you get too far though.

Being in the family, I'd probably suggest it's an awesome training piece for you if they don't mind and the chem cost will be didly squat so just your time only.
