They aren't the greatest vacuums but they do dig up a bunch of crud. So, if you do decide to pick one up, remember to vacuum after using it. One thing they are pretty good for (other than excavating dry crud & pet hair fom the pile) is scrubbing prespray... Just unplug the vac motor before you do it...

its a boat anchor..the thing weighs a ton...they don't vacuum worth a shit........they do help stand up the pile but for a lot less money you can get a good vacuum that does that... and it will vacuum stuff up...over rated..over priced...and worth less.........

I agree with Jim and Larry.
As far as doing much to the carpet, it is worthless.

Impresses the clients a lot though.

If you buy it, just bring it in. No need to plug it in, just leave in a strategic visible place as to impress the hack out of your client.

Much better use than a boat anchor Jim!

Jim..

With you "engineering"...talents...!!!

Why don't you "tinker with the IDEA of removing the cloth bag...& convert it
to a "pool Filter"... :?: Could part of the vac problem be that the BAG...restricts
the air-flow... :?:

I bet you could "TWEEK"...the design & make this unit perform to PERFECTION... 8)

I have found that the SAND TRAP...is a poor design...loosing MASSIVE amounts of
suction or LIFT...

The Certified pile lifter is a fantastic machine that will last forever. The problem that many people have is that they bought one to use as a heavy duty vacuum cleaner, but it's a pile lifter. Says so in big letters embossed right into the metal housing. The vacuum capablity is only meant to remove loose debris, such as shedding wool.

Every rug shop should have one, but I'm not sure a carpet cleaner needs one unless you do nap correction work for carpet mills.

If you need one, buy Jim's before it gets away. I'd buy it but we already have three, all of which are running strong after over twenty years of semi-daily use.
