What kind of brush do you use and where can it be bought for grooming the fringe? My tamping brush does descent and the carding brush is too aggressive.

The Grandi-Groomer or the green spiky things are right for fringe. The tines are round enough and there is enough space between tines to straighten fringe without damage.

Fine brushes, particularly the fine wire brush, are horrible for fringe. They will split the fringe yarns into individual fibers and remove the twist that give any yarn durability. We'll use that type of brush if we replace the fringe on one end of a rug and want to "age" it to match the existing end.
