Who's going to come up with a remote switch to idle a truckmount from inside the house.

For years it's been periodically talked about.

Why is it such a bad idea that noone would take it on?. Too difficult to make, expensive, not enough demand????

Cobb could build one but you'd get a 220 volt shock every time you used it.
Greenie could too but he'd never answer your phone call so it's up to Mytee to knock off Cobb's design in which case you would not get shocked but it would leak water for half the price.

Its not rocket science, so why don't you build one yourself or have someone build one for you. The biggest problem with a remote idle down switch is that all truckmounts are different. It would be easy to build one for a direct drive unit because they are idled up electrically/mechanically. An air cooled engine is usually just idled up mechanically. I was frustrated about spending all the fuel costs to run my hm 4.8 machine full blast to spray and scrub. I actually set it up so it runs a very fast idle on one pod and then when the hose is closed off with my hand the other pod will activate bringing the machine up to full speed for cleaning. (second vacuum pod is run off of waste tank vacuum)

I thought about rigging a car remote start to shut my machine down if needed. i have a WM pro 1600 and if you dont spray for a while it will over heat. Would be nice to be able to shut it down.

Amen -a remote shut down switch would be very handy.

Sometimes Mikey can be such a punk. Actually, we made a remote for our portables, we just don't market it. It will turn the vac motors and pump on or off from about a block away.

Why the heck would you want a remote for something that should never be more than 25 feet away and doesn't get HBO?

I built one a while back. I used a Garage Door Opener. Lift Master by Chamberlain has all the parts.

If I recall right, and you long time cleaners will probably remember, there was an article in, I think, a CleanFax mag about a cleaner that had a TM that was completely controlled by remote control. I think it was a PC machine. It's been at least 10+ years since I seen it....my memory is fading......

Come on you old farts......somebody gotta remember that article. Maybe Downie....didn't he own the mag years ago??

I'd like to see that article as well.

Bob, I called the first link and yes they can supply the parts. I have a Maxx470 which has a toggle and 3 selections (idle, low, high). Not sure I want to spend the $700 bucks on it right now though. This may not be rocket science but for someone that has no clue it might as well be.
