Which pump should I get?

Seems like a good idea to have a backup pump, I hear rebuilding these cheap pumps costs nearly as much as replacing them. The General Pump I currently have has last digits "13S", yet Steambrite only lists two models that look identical but have different flow rates. Seems like neither match the specs of my General pump exactly, does it matter as long as its close?

These are the specs for the "13S" model I have. Seems like a slightly lower flow rate and higher psi then the "12S" model listed on Steambrite...

Maybe a better question is, does it matter at all? How does my system max out at 1000 psi or so when the pump can produce 2500 psi? Does the pressure regulator define the high pressure limit. I just learned from Dwain that anything higher will implode the heat exchanger in my CDS.

I would be more interested in frame & input shaft size (size compared to what i have)flow (gpm) and power requirements of the pump (bhp) seal type ie: nitrile, viton buetil etc and temperature rated you want a pump that your not operating at its maximum rating ie if you regularly run 1000 psi @ 3.5 gpm you would want a pump that is rated at 1750psi+@ somewhere around 5gpm at your operating rpm if this makes sense keep in mind that gpm changes and is rated at a specific rpm .if you run the pump slower it will pump less volume . I use hypro pumps heres performance charts for 2400series as an example of what im talking about

By the limited information i would go with i would go with the 1812 because of the 2 its closer to the output gpm of the pump you have

Kleen-rite has been a reliable source for me.. Other sites will just drop-ship, but charge an arm and a leg for me..
